Entries are now being accepted for the 2008 NCLR ALMA Awards nominations. The ALMA Awards - which will kick off National HIspanic Heritage Month - celebrates the people's choice and outstanding artistic achievements of Latinos in film, television, and music and promotes the diverse, accurate, and proportional portrayals of Latinos in American media. The 10th ALMA Awards telecast will showcase extraordinary tributes to salte this historic event.

NATPE Diversity Fellowship Program Reminder

Through our partnership with NATPE, we’re offering you this great opportunity to be a Diversity Fellow at NATPE’s upcoming LATV Festival.
Here’s some information about NATPE’s 3rd Annual Diversity Fellowship Program:
In collaboration with the Walter Katz Foundation, this program offers a small group of emerging television and video content creators of diverse backgrounds with the next step in their career development. Through a series of mentoring meetings, workshops, networking and educational opportunities, the Fellows are afforded a unique opportunity to make valuable contacts and gain real insight into the television industry.
NATPE provides the Fellows with four nights of accommodation, all entrance fees to LATV Festival events (July 30 – Aug. 1), special lunches, networking events, one-on-one time with a mentor, and ground transportation. The Fellows are responsible for their own airfare and incidentals. The Fellows are chosen through a selection and submission process.

Call for Entries : The Int'l Latino Film Festival - San Francisco Bay Area
The International Latino Film Festival- San Francisco Bay Area promotes Latino culture by showcasing the best and most recent works produced by or about Latinos in the United States and internationally. The Festival promotes cinematography of significant artistic and educational merit that expresses the cultural diversity of the many countries and roots of the Latino population and rich cultural heritage. The 12th International Latino Film Festival – San Francisco Bay Area will take place November 7-23, 2008 in San Francisco, San Jose, Marin, Berkeley, Redwood City.
How To Enter:

Acceptable Categories: Feature Narrative, Feature Documentary, Short Narrative, Short Documentary, and Student film.
Exhibition Format: Acceptable formats for screening are: 35mm and DVD. All films will be shown in their original language. Non-English-language entries must have English subtitles.
Preview Format: For review purposes, all entries must be submitted on DVD only. Please send three (3) copies of the film. Non-English-language entries must have English subtitles. Please label your DVD with the title and running time of the entry. For international shipping, the customs declaration should read "Cultural material of no commercial value". Each entry title must be submitted with a separate entry form and fee.
Entry Deadline:
Early entries must be received by June 13th, 2008.
Regular entry deadline is June 27th, 2008.
Late deadline is July 11th, 2008.
Entry fee must be paid in US dollars and is non-refundable.

LA Shorts Fest honors those individuals who have achieved excellence in short content. Accredited by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, the Festival is the largest, most recognized short film festival in the world.
