MTV is conducting a nationwide search for the HOTTEST pop group of the FUTURE! We’re looking for UNIQUE and INNOVATIVE singing groups that can bring pop music to the next level! Selected groups will compete for a chance to win $100,000.
Casting calls will be held in the following cities:
Chicago, IL – Sunday – June 29th
New York, NY – Wed. – July 2nd
Miami, FL – Saturday – July 5th
Atlanta, GA – Tues. – July 8th
Los Angeles, CA – Friday – July 11th
Groups must be made up of 3-6 members, ages 18 and up.

 Free Screening of Youth Docs on I.C.E Raids, Gang Violence, American Dream
MEDIA ARTSCENTER SAN DIEGO'S Teen Producers Project will host a FREE screening of three of its' latest videos on Friday, June 27th at 6:30PM at Crawford High Educational Complex - Auditorium (4191 Colts Way, SD,92115).
Student filmmakers from a variety of San Diego neighborhoods have produced three compelling short documentaries that examine Immigration Policy, Community Violence and the experiences of Refugees and immigrants pursuing the American Dream. Working alongside media arts instructors from the MEDIA ARTS Center San Diego, teen filmmakers interviewed, researched and produced socially conscious documentaries about these important issues that impact the lives of people in their communities.
After the screening, youth filmmakers, instructors, scholars and experts will have a short dialogue with the audience about the experiences making these videos. This is a free event open to the public.
FILMS TO BE SCREENED include:
The World Premiere of Perspectives of the American Dream - Teens compare and contrast the experiences of individuals from two specific San Diego communities, East African Refugees and Latinos, in order to examine the opportunities and obstacles these two communities face as they attempt to establish a life for themselves in a new city and country. The project was made possible by support from the California Council For the Humanities.
I Want My Parents Back - I Want My Parents Back focuses on the issue of immigration by highlighting the story of a local San Diego family, the Munoz family. Teens explore the ways the current immigration policy in their community affects the lives of its residents. I Want My Parents Back was recently selected to be screened at the Human Rights Watch Film Festival on June 12-26 in New York City. This documentary was funded by The Bravo Foundation.
Fighting Community Violence - In Fighting Community Violence Teen Producers from the MEDIA ARTS CENTER SAN DIEGO document the effects gang violence has on former gang members, emphasizing the consequences of joining a gang as well as providing positive alternatives to participating in gang activity.
