Media Summit Coordinator/Webpage Manager @ NALIP

Responsible for planning and coordinating the NALIP Media Summit, day-to-day management of events, website management, and ensuring NALIP Media Summit runs smoothly.

Location: Los Angeles, CA 

Dates: March-June 2015

Compensation: $500/Week

Mission/Environment: The National Association of Latino Independent Producers (NALIP) is a national membership organization, committed to helping Latino and Latina media makers with their professional goals.  We seek to increase the quality and quantity of stories by and about Latinos, through professional development, community building, and mentoring.  

Applicants are expected to be able to work efficiently and professionally in a fast paced, team-oriented production environment. In such an environment, the ability to work well under pressure, excellent communication skills and intense organization skills are a must.

Overall Job Description: Responsible for planning and coordinating the media summit, day-to-day management of events, website management, and ensuring Media Summit runs smoothly.

Duties and Responsibilities: The responsibilities of the Media Summit Coordinator/Web Manger include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee pre-Media Summit logistics, planning and infrastructure

  • Manage online program, content, registration and post-evaluation

  • Web/Database management. Manage Media Summit website effectively and efficiently, including update links, update, provide graphics, and other visuals

  • Communicating daily with the Summit team, executives, attendees and subcontractors

  • Planning schedule of events and checking attendee requirements

  • Manage all meeting, venue, on and off-site logistics for the Media Summit

  • Oversee speakers, room set‐up, audio visual, transportation, hotel, food and beverage, BEOs, etc.

  • Assist in all other Media Summit areas as necessary

Qualifications:

  • Experience managing and effectively communicating to a large groups of people

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team-based, new business environment

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, database, and website design/programming technologies

  • Knowledge of graphic design, including use of Adobe Create Suite

  • Proficiency using Mac Software suites preferred

  • Excellent analytical, problem solving skills and patience

  • Experience in planning Media Summits and events

  • Ability to prioritize and delegate in high stress situations

  • Availability to work evenings and weekends

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) and knowledge of the professional entertainment business highly preferred.
